Fond Memories, Gentle Reminders, Found In Snow

Body
I loved playing in the snow as a child, especially with the promise of hot chocolate and toast when I came inside. From building snow forts to making snow angels, I have fond memories in the snow. We used to play a game of tag called “fox and geese” where we had to run in stamped out paths in the snow while not being caught by the fox. The best thing of all was bringing a snowman to life.

Several Events Discussed, New Member Initiated

The Legion Auxiliary met at 9:30 a.m. at the Legion. We proceeded to stuff bags with thank you notes and candy for all the school staff. This is for Education week. We then delivered them to the school, along with some supplies, like paper plates, small paint sets, glue sticks, tissues and zip lock bags, to the school. Lawrence Paulsen donated the paint sets and the rulers. The students and teachers were very appreciative of everything.

Lower Loup NRD Public Hearing Draws Large Crowd

Body
Proposed changes to Lower Loup NRD rules and regulations drew attendees from across the District to a series of recent public meetings, and a public hearing. At public meetings on Jan. 20 in Genoa, and in Ord and Broken Bow on Jan. 26, farmers, ranchers, commercial fertilizer dealers, agronomists, political figures, and others in attendance heard from Lower Loup NRD experts who presented scientific data showing the negative effects of applying commercial nitrogen fertilizer in the fall.
Approximately 140 people attended the public meeting in Ord, and 130 attended the public hearing later in the day that was part of the LLNRD January Board of Directors meeting. (Photo courtesy LLNRD)
