The American Legion Auxiliary monthly meeting was called to order at 6:30 at the Callaway Legion Hall on the 15th of May. Our meeting was called to order by our President Deondra Lashley. Joyce Brestel read the prayer and we sang the Star Spangled Banner, said the Pledge of Allegiance and said our Preamble. The minutes of our last meeting were read and MaryAnn Boldt gave the Financial Report.

Thursday, May 17, marked the end of the 2022-23 school year at Callaway Public School. It was also the conclusion of 30 years of teaching in the district for three CPS teachers.

Blessed are those that can give without remembering and can take without forgetting. One day a florist went to a barber for a haircut.

The 2023 graduating class of Callaway Public Schools turned their tassels and started a new chapter in their lives on Sunday as they received their diplomas and said goodbye to their high school days.

Smack in the middle of our great nation is a state that requires some explanation. To the east and the west coasters who’ll come right out and ask ya’, “Is there anything of interest in the State of Nebraska?” It’s true we don’t have mountains all decked out in snow, But we do have the world’s biggest live chicken show.

Ava Pandorf is the oldest of three children of Steve and Rhonda Pandorf of Callaway. She is also one of 13 students who will be walking across the stage on Sunday to receive their diploma from Callaway High School, and begin the next chapter in their life journey.
