Badgley Well Service No More

For nearly 40 years many farmers and ranchers in central Nebraska have relied on Badgley Well Service for their agricultural water needs. That service will continue but will now be under new ownership.
The children of Cliff and Nicole Badgley - Emma, Laney, and Carson - don't remember a time when their dad wasn't in the well business. The family will now get used to a new way of life as Cliff has changed directions...retreading as he calls it. (Photo courtesy Nicole Badgley)

Senior Life Solutions hosted the 2nd Annual Suicide Prevention and Awareness Walk and “Wear Purple and Teal Day” on Sept. 18. Staff of Callaway District Hospital joined several members of the community of all ages for a walk around the school track to help raise awareness of the potential signs of someone considering suicide, and what we can do to help.

Budget Set, Tax Asking Lowered

The Sept. 9 meeting of the Callaway Board of Education began with public hearings to present the district’s 2024-25 budget and tax request. The hearings were an opportunity for Superintendent JD Furrow to present the budget and tax asking to the public, and for patrons to ask any questions they may have. There was no public comment on either.
Callaway Public Schools continues to look for and implement ways to maintain the best programs and educational opportunities available for their students, while operating within a fiscally responsible budget.
