Community Joins Together to Support Women’s Resource Center

The annual Walk For Life was held May 6 at Morgan Park in Callaway, with 19 children and youth along with 32 adults participating. Proceeds from the Walk For Life go to help support the Women’s Resource Center in North Platte. This was the 22nd year for the event in Callaway, which raised nearly $4,000! The Sun Didn't Change, But My Perspective Did

The smoke from Canada recently filled the sky with a foggy haze. I had noticed the sky looked a different color the day before, but waking up to haze and a smoky smell left no room for doubt. Hundreds of miles south of the location of the fire, our area was impacted. As I glanced out of the kitchen window, the sun had a unique red glow. Moments later, it was hidden behind clouds and haze, completely out of view.

Chemigation (or fertigation) is the process of applying agricultural chemicals to cropland via injection into water pumping through an irrigation system. Many farmers irrigating across the Lower Loup Natural Resources District use chemigation to apply fertilizer and pesticides to their farm fields.

American Legion Auxiliary May Meeting Minutes

The American Legion Auxiliary monthly meeting was called to order at 6:30 at the Callaway Legion Hall on the 15th of May. Our meeting was called to order by our President Deondra Lashley. Joyce Brestel read the prayer and we sang the Star Spangled Banner, said the Pledge of Allegiance and said our Preamble. The minutes of our last meeting were read and MaryAnn Boldt gave the Financial Report.
