Rexey “Rex” Allen Gunnerson,

83 of St. Paul, (formerly of Gothenburg), passed away peacefully on Dec. 1, 2023, surrounded by his family at the Grand Island Regional Medical Center in Grand Island. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 8, at the United Methodist Church in St. Paul, with Pastor Susan Murithi officiating. Interment will be held at 4 p.m. on Friday at the Gothenburg Cemetery in Gothenburg. In lieu of flowers, memorials will be designated to Parkinson’s research. Jacobsen-Greenway-Dietz Funeral Home in St. Paul is assisting the family. Rex was born on Dec. 7, 1939, to Carl and Mabel (Willett) Gunnerson in Bertrand. He grew up in Cozad and graduated from Cozad High School in 1959. Rex was united in marriage to Inez Williams on April 3, 1960, in Gothenburg. From this union, four children were born; Valerie, Machell, Stewart, and Patricia.

age 85 of Broken Bow, passed away Nov. 7, 2023, at the Jennie M Melham Memorial Medical Center in Broken Bow. Marjorie “Marge” Louise Mason was born Feb. 22, 1938, in Callaway, to Douglas and Mabel (Morrison) Wise. Marge grew up in the Callaway area attending Sunny Side Grade School and graduating from Callaway High School in 1955.

age 96 of Broken Bow, passed away Nov. 2, 2023, at Brookestone View in Broken Bow. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 7, at Govier Brothers Chapel in Broken Bow. Visitation will be held at Govier Brothers Chapel on Monday, Nov. 6, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. with the family present from 4-6 p.m. Memorials may be made to American Legion Post 126, Broken Bow. Govier Brothers Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

age 77 of rural Broken Bow, passed away Oct. 6, 2023, at his home. Gary Lee Glendy, the youngest son of William (Bill) and Elsie (Pflaster) Glendy was born Sept. 29, 1946, in Broken Bow. Gary grew up on the Glendy Ranch near Pressy Park gaining his love and knowledge for the cattle and hills from his father Bill, Grandpa LO, and Uncle Elden. He attended Tuckerville School north of Oconto up to the 8th grade and graduated from Oconto High School in 1965. Gary attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln majoring in Agronomy. Gary was a member of the Tuckerville 4-H club, forming many lasting friendships while Range Judging and as part of the Custer County Square Dance team.

Peter Thane Ellingson

Peter Thane Ellingson passed away in the home that he loved with family by his side on Aug. 14, 2023. He was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on Dec. 13, 1940, to Elmer Torger Ellingson and Marcella Bernice (Carpenter) Ellingson. He grew up with his parents and older sister, Sallie, in Coon Rapids, Minnesota. While quite young Pete felt a burning desire to serve in the military and finally, in January of 1958, he joined the Navy where he would serve for 20 years. During his early years in the service he married Betty Rothwell and had two children, Kelly Marie and Torger Lief. They divorced and later Peter married Laura Evalin (Pepper) Medlin and gained two step-children, Brian Joseph Medlin and Laura Jeane (Seng) Medlin. They were happily married until Laura’s death in 2016.
