Russell Stuart Meyer was born on the first day of July in 1936, and passed away on the last day of October in 2023, in Fresno, California. Russ was the third of six children born to Ernest and Lula Meyer, and spent his childhood in Lodgepole.

He was a life-long educator teaching various subjects and coaching high school sports in California.

Russ is preceded in death by his parents; brother, JD; and sisters, Ruth Ann and Clara Kay.

He is survived by Rita, the love of his life for 36 years; two brothers, Jerry (Nadia) Meyer of Callaway, and Charlie (Harriet) Meyer. He also leaves behind his children and their families, Kerry (Mark) Dahlin, Jill (Ben) Sweet, Nigel (Hope) Whitehead, Andrea (Jeff) McGreevy, and Allyson Burns.
