The Callaway Chamber of Commerce is hosting a 'Celebrate Callaway' event and inviting the whole community to attend! It will be a potluck dinner with Chamber members being asked to bring a main dish and a salad or dessert. The Chamber will also provide a pulled pork sandwich and beans complementary of Jim & Julianna Jenkins from Skeeter Barnes restaurant. The event is Sunday evening, April 3 at the Callaway Community Center beginning at 5:30 pm.

Callaway High School sent four representatives to the NSAA State Speech Championships last week - and one came home with a gold medal. As a team, Callaway finished tied for ninth place in the Class D1 sweepstakes, of the 21 teams represented.

On Sunday, April 3 at 5:30 p.m. the Chamber will host "Celebrate Callaway" at the Callaway Community Center.

The Tail Twisters 4-H meeting was held Sunday, Feb. 27, 2022. The meeting was called to order at 7:05 p.m. Then the flag salutes were done, then the treasurer's report was read and a roll call was taken.

Our meeting was held at the American Legion Hall on Feb. 25, 2022, at 6:30. We opened in normal procedure with the prayer, Star Spangled Banner, Pledge of Allegiance and our Auxiliary Preamble. We read the minutes of the last meeting. MaryAnn read the Treasurers report and everything stands approved.

The Legion Auxiliary Post 59 will have an American Legion Birthday Party on Sunday, March 27 at 3:00 in the afternoon. We will serve cake and Ice cream. All Legionnaire's and Auxiliary members and Sons of American Legion are invited.

Over the past few months we have been featuring businesses that make Callaway a special place to live. Perhaps no local story better exemplifies the spirit of the Seven Valleys than Callaway District Hospital.

Nebraska One Box will host a Shoot & Swing Golf Tournament on June 25 at the Nebraska One Box Golf Club in Broken Bow. The four-person team shoot will begin at 8:30 a.m. with a 100-rock flurry during the morning and 18 holes of golf in the afternoon. The swing will begin at 11 a.m.

Each year the Knights of Columbus hosts Friday Fish Fries in communities throughout Custer County. The fish fry comes to Callaway tomorrow, March 18 at the Callaway Community Center. Serving will be from 5:30 - 7 p.m. Cost for adults is $10, ages 6-12 is $5.00, and under 6 is free.
