The Callaway Chamber of Commerce wishes to sa thank you to everyone who participated in hosting th Bran riders last week. “You all were amazing and appreciated. We received so many compliments about Callaway, the friendly people and great food and how nic and clean the town looked,” said Chamber president Ke Pitkin.

Callaway a Stop on Tour de Nebraska Trail

The thing about being a friendly town located in the heart of beautiful hills and valleys, is that travelers like to visit. And this summer Callaway has become a mecca for bicyclists. Just this week the community hosted nearly 400 BRAN riders, and now the local Chamber of Commerce and community volunteers are gearing back up for Tour de Nebraska. This tour is expected to have about 400 bikers pass through Callaway on Thursday, June 23.

It’s Garage Sale Heaven in Callaway June 11

Come early, stay all day…for the Callaway Community Wide Garage Sales on Saturday, June 11 (Rain or Shine). There are 30 families signed up to participate in this year’s sales - in 23 locations! Sales can be found throughout town as well as in the country. There will be fun, food, great buys, treasures and bargains galore. Some merchants will have special sales as well. It’s garage sale heaven in Callaway!

County Fairgrounds Bustles With Summer Activity

Area 4-H and FFA kids are already working on their projects and practicing with their livestock in preparation for the annual Custer County Fair, which is less than two months away. However, the county fairgrounds in Broken Bow offer much more than just a host site for the fair each year. The fair board devotes a great deal of time and effort into creating an environment that is attractive to a wide range of organizations and events - and this summer’s calendar reflects that hard work has paid off.

Rolling Out The Red Carpet…With a Few Hail Holes

A major storm rolled through the village of Callaway Sunday evening, June 5, packing strong winds, heavy rain and large hail. As residents emerged from the shelter of their homes after the storm had passed, many discovered mass devastation to their homes and vehicles.

President Mike Cartney, Lake Area Technical College of Watertown, South Dakota, has announced that Rijjy Peterson has been named to the school’s President’s List. The President’s List is a record of outstanding students who, through their initiative and ability, have indicated a seriousness of purpose in their educational program. The President’s List is limited to full-time students who have achieved a semester grade point average of 3.5 to 4.0

Local Medical Services Expanding to New Arnold Clinic

The Callaway American Legion Auxiliary has announced the winners of the Americanism Essay contest. The winners were awarded a certificate and monetary gift, and will advance to the state competition in their respective classes.
