Rosezella Rosetta Price, 95, passed away peacefully on Dec. 17, 2023. God called her home to heaven to reunite with her husband, Sidney (Bud), and other family members who preceded her in death.

Rosezella was born on June. 16, 1928, to Ross and Verna Weatherly in Callaway. She graduated from high school in 1946, working on the farm as well as other jobs as a store clerk, in a newspaper office, as a movie projectionist, and in a dress factory.

Ramona G'Schwind, 81

of Hallam, died Dec. 29, 2023. Ramona was born July 16, 1942, to Herbert and Lorraine G’Schwind. Ramona grew up and graduated from Callaway High School. Ramona married Robert Edgington and they had two children, Robin and Robert Jr. Later Ramona moved to Lincoln. She went back to school and earned an associate degree. Ramona retired from Bryan Medical Center as a Medical Transcriptionist. Ramona loved to cook, do crafts, and especially read. Ramona had a large collection of books. Ramona loved to travel, especially to visit family in Cheyenne. Ramona would always enjoy a shopping trip to Super Saver or stop for a garage sale.

Rita Bill (Harris)

Rita Bill (Harris) age 74 of Bennet, died peacefully Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2023, in Lincoln. She was born on June 30, 1949, in Lexington, the fifth child of William Orris (Bill) and Loretta Belle (Bybee) Harris. On Feb. 11, 2000, she was united in marriage to Rodney Light in York. Rita worked nearly 30 years at Champion Home Builders in York, as a forklift operator. Her hobbies included designing, crafting and refurbishing items. When she and her husband Rod moved to McCool Junction, she had a small craft shop where she enjoyed selling her creations.

Harriet L. Barnes

went home to be with her Lord, on Dec. 17, 2023, at the age of 95 years, 11 months. She was born on Jan. 16, 1928, to Myron and Josephine (Lichtenberger) Hopkins in Callaway. Harriett attended school in Callaway, graduating in 1946. On Sept. 26, 1946, she was united in marriage to Glenn R. Barnes at the church in Callaway, and to this union five children were born. Harriett was a Brownie and Girl Scout leader while the girls were growing up. She attended Kearney School of Nursing at the age of 40 and became a Licensed Practical Nurse. She loved taking care of people and was a compassionate nurse over the years. At the age of 80, she continued to work with the Area Agency on Aging, helping people who needed care. Harriett loved watching sporting events, in person or on TV. Husker events, wrestling, and rodeos were her all-time favorites.

83 of St. Paul, (formerly of Gothenburg), passed away peacefully on Dec. 1, 2023, surrounded by his family at the Grand Island Regional Medical Center in Grand Island. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 8, at the United Methodist Church in St. Paul, with Pastor Susan Murithi officiating. Interment will be held at 4 p.m. on Friday at the Gothenburg Cemetery in Gothenburg. In lieu of flowers, memorials will be designated to Parkinson’s research.

83 of St. Paul, (formerly of Gothenburg), passed away peacefully on Dec. 1, 2023, surrounded by his family at the Grand Island Regional Medical Center in Grand Island. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 8, at the United Methodist Church in St. Paul, with Pastor Susan Murithi officiating. Interment will be held at 4 p.m. on Friday at the Gothenburg Cemetery in Gothenburg. In lieu of flowers, memorials will be designated to Parkinson’s research. Jacobsen-Greenway-Dietz Funeral Home in St. Paul is assisting the family. Rex was born on Dec. 7, 1939, to Carl and Mabel (Willett) Gunnerson in Bertrand. He grew up in Cozad and graduated from Cozad High School in 1959. Rex was united in marriage to Inez Williams on April 3, 1960, in Gothenburg. From this union, four children were born; Valerie, Machell, Stewart, and Patricia.

age 85 of Broken Bow, passed away Nov. 7, 2023, at the Jennie M Melham Memorial Medical Center in Broken Bow. Marjorie “Marge” Louise Mason was born Feb. 22, 1938, in Callaway, to Douglas and Mabel (Morrison) Wise. Marge grew up in the Callaway area attending Sunny Side Grade School and graduating from Callaway High School in 1955.

age 96 of Broken Bow, passed away Nov. 2, 2023, at Brookestone View in Broken Bow. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 7, at Govier Brothers Chapel in Broken Bow. Visitation will be held at Govier Brothers Chapel on Monday, Nov. 6, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. with the family present from 4-6 p.m. Memorials may be made to American Legion Post 126, Broken Bow. Govier Brothers Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
