was born Aug. 4, 1930, in Wichita, Kansas. She went home to be with her Lord and Savior on May 25, 2023, at age 92. She is survived by her children, Carol A. Ingram (James), Carl L Nickle (Marda), Charlene M. Saunders (Lenny), Cindy F. Nickle and Curtis E. Nickle (Summer); six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, and one great-greatgrandchild.

Linda S. Curia, 72 of Oconto, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at the Callaway District Hospital in Callaway. She was born on Jan. 3, 1951, in Lexington to Ralph and Lola (Badgley) Kirby. She attended Oconto Public Schools and graduated from Oconto High School with the class of 1969. Linda went on to further her education at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where she received a bachelor’s degree in interior design.

William N. “Bill” Underwood Jr.

75 of Elwood, passed away on Friday, April 28, 2023, at the Elwood Care Center. He was born on April 5, 1948, to William and Doris J. (Read) Underwood, Sr. Bill attended public schools in Eustis and graduated from Eustis High School with the class of 1968. He then went on to further his education at Mid-Plains Community College in North Platte for Auto Body Mechanics. Following school, Bill enlisted in the United States Army on Dec. 3, 1968. He proudly served his country during Vietnam where he was promoted to Staff Sergeant. Following Vietnam, he was stationed in Germany and Fort Campbell, Kentucky. After his father’s death, Bill decided not to reenlist and was honorably discharged on July 28, 1976.

Joseph Dale Davenport, beloved son of proud parents Esther and Bernard, descendent of French, German and Irish immigrants/devout Catholics, was born April 27, 1931, and died Dec. 29, 2022. He was the oldest brother to Dick, Jerry and Don, generous Uncle to nieces and nephews, devoted husband of 62 years to his free-spirited bride Elizabeth, proud father to Lisa and Michele, enthusiastically proud Opa to Celeste and her husband Simon, and Ethan, and thrilled to learn of his first great-grandchild, A Girl! Baby Penelope was born March 23, 2023.

age 91 of Julesburg, Colorado and formerly of Arnold, passed away on March 16, 2023. She was born Feb. 2, 1932, in Overton, to Frank and Olga (Venhauer) Moritz. She was raised on various farms in the Lexington area. She and her brother, Glenn, helped to raise sheep and pigs while also working in the corn and beet fields. Ruth was well known and recognized for her ability to raise Nebraska (Aksarben) 4-H champion sheep.

99 of Lexington, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2023, at Ridgeway in Lexington. He was born on Dec. 21, 1923, in Lodi, to Rollie and Cleta Faye (Boggs) Hendricks. Ken attended school in Callaway and graduated from Callaway High School with the class of 1941. Following graduation, Ken went on to further his education at the Lincoln Air Mechanic School before moving to Buffalo, New York. While in New York, Kenneth began working in the Curtis- Wright Airplane Factory Defense Plant. He met Ruth R. Aikin on a blind date, and the rest is history!
