Two Bobcats Finish in Top 10 at Home Invite
The Bobcats hosted the South Loup Invitational golf meet on Friday, April 10, finishing in fourth place overall in the team standings at the end of the day. The Sutherland squad came in with the low team score of 347 to take the top spot, followed by Mullen in second, and the Lexington JV team in third.
The individual low score was shot by Ben Wemer of Mullen, who carded a 73. Not far behind him was Sutherland’s Easton Smith with 75.
Crew Witthuhn led the Bobcats, scoring a 92 on the day, good for 7th place. He was followed very closely by teammate Haydn Stretesky, just one stroke behind with 93 to finish in 8th place.
Callan Witthuhn also had a good day, shooting a 96 to come in 12th. Rounding out the Bobcat squad was Kyson Stretesky with 105, good for 21st place, and Dawson Downing with 109 to finish 25th.
The Bobcats also had two JV competitors on the home course. Asher Evans carded 120 for 30th place overall, and Piper Strasburg shot 134 to finish in 32nd place.
A total of eight schools were represented at the meet. The Bobcats are back on the course today, April 16, in Hershey. Play got underway in that meet at 10 a.m. On Thursday, April 23, the team will travel to Thedford, which will also be a 10 a.m. start.
