Lady Bobcats Split Last Week’s Games
You can't lose the contest if you win every quarter, and that was precisely South Loup's strategy against the Mullen Broncos on Friday, Feb. 2. The Lady Bobcats walked away with a 36-26 win over the Broncos. The win made it back-to-back wins for South Loup.
Bryn Schwarz continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 21 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 steals. That makes it 15 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of South Loup's points.
Aubrie Birkel had 6 points and 6 rebounds against the Broncos, while her sister Maggie contributed 5 points and 6 rebounds.
Both girls also had 2 steals each.
South Loup didn’t have much time to rest: their next matchup was against the Eagles of Southern Valley on Saturday, Feb. 3. Southern Valley came into the game hot, having won their last 15 games.
Southern Valley showed they were the superior team from the onset of the game, holding the Lady Bobcats to low single-digit scoring each quarter while continuing to accumulate points on their side of the board.
The final score was South Loup 16, Southern Valley 54.
Stats of the Feb. 3 game were not available.
The Lady Bobcats traveled to Anselmo-Merna on Tuesday, however, those results were not available at press time.
Their final game of the regular season will be tomorrow night against Hi-Line in Arnold. Tip-off for the varsity girls’ game is 6 p.m.
