Lady Bobcats Split Games in Home Triangular
The Lady Bobcats had a fairly light week on the volleyball court last week. After hosting Bertrand and Brady in a triangular on Tuesday, Sept. 16, the team had a nice break before their next matches on Tuesday, Sept. 23.
Their first game of the triangular in Callaway paired the Bobcats with Brady, who has been having a good season with only two losses on the year. South Loup was able to play tough against the Eagles, and though they didn’t pull out the win they kept the score respectable. Brady won both sets, 25-18.
Nyachay Haidle and Emma Stallbaumer led the way for the Bobcats, each getting 5 kills in the game. Asa Star landed 3 kills. The only ace serve for the Bobcats came from Aubrie Birkel.
Defensively, Stallbaumer was credited with two blocks on Brady, and Charli Pandorf led the team with 11 digs.
South Loup then met Bertrand and were able to notch their second win of the season, 25-19, and 25-20. Stallbaumer led the Bobcat attack with 10 kills, and she also had 2 blocks. Haidle finished the game with 4 kills, and was hot at the service line with 5 ace serves. Rae Hagler also had an ace serve, and 2 blocks.
Keeping the ball in play was a team effort, as Stallbaumer had 8 digs, Pandorf had 7, Hagler 6, and Birkel 4.
The Lady Bobcats were back on the court on Tuesday in Merna for a triangular with Anselmo-Merna and Elm Creek. The team will travel to Sutherland on Saturday for a tournament, with play set to begin at 10 a.m. .
