The Lady Bobcat basketball team extended their win streak last Tuesday when they beat the Arcadia-Loup City Lady Rebels at home by a score of 40-27.

The first quarter started very well for the Lady Bobcats, scoring 17 points to the Lady Rebels 3 points. By the end of the first half, the score had evened out a tad, 25-13. But, even a rest break during half time couldn’t help the Lady Rebels as the Lady Bobcats continued to run up the score to 31-20 by the end of the third period, then the Lady Bobcats added 9 points in the fourth quarter to the Lady Rebels 7.

The Lady Bobcats didn’t shoot that much better than the Lady Rebels - 31 percent complete vs. 29 percent but they were able to create better opportunities to score and to prevent their opponents from getting into the paint.

Taylor Ross was the leading scorer with 12 points, followed by Bryn Schwarz with 10 points, and Abby Stallbaumer with 6 points. Ross also led the team with 11 rebounds, followed by Stallbaumer with 8 and Schwarz with 7.

The winter storm prevented the games against Ansley- Litchfield from being played and a make-up date has not been announced.

The third-ranked Lady Bobcats faced Hyannis on Monday in the first round of Mid-Nebraska Activities Conference tournament play. The results were not available by press time.

The Lady Bobcats will either play on Friday in the consolation round or Saturday in the championship rounds at North Platte Community College. Watch the school’s Facebook page for more information.
