Girls Are Champs, Boys Runners-Up, at Home Invite

The South Loup men’s and women’s track teams hosted a home invitational on Friday, April 10, and put on a tremendous show in front of the home crowd. The women easily walked away with the team championship, while the men finished as invite runners-up.

The women’s team finished the day with 92.5 points to lead the field of 13 teams. Burwell finished second with 73.5 points, and Pleasanton was third with 68 points.

In the men’s team standings, it was Pleasanton topping the leader board with 102 points. South Loup finished with 75 points, and Anselmo-Merna was a close third with 72 points.

Individually for the girls, the Bobcats picked up gold medals in three events and silver medals in three events. Meanwhile, the boys earned two gold and two silver medals.

The teams will travel to Burwell on Friday, April 17, with events beginning at 10 a.m., and will be in Overton on Tuesday, April 21. Events in Overton get underway at 9 a.m.
