Fall sports practice for Callaway High School officially began on Monday, Aug. 12. Though the Bobcats have lost some key players from last year in each of their sports, and a couple of coaching changes have occurred, the student athletes are gearing up for another great season.

The teams will get a couple of weeks of practice under their belts before the season kicks off on Aug. 29. The cross country team will head to Burwell that Thursday for a 10 a.m. meet. Meanwhile, the football team will host Hemingford for their season opener in Arnold. Kick off is set for 7 p.m.

Meanwhile, the volleyball team will not see their season start until after Labor Day. The first match of 2024 is set for Tuesday, Sept. 3, at Mullen. Tip-off for the varsity only match is set for 5:30 p.m. CT.

Be sure and get your copy of the Aug. 29 issue of the Courier, where we will feature team photos and previews of the Bobcats 2024 fall sports season.
