Bobcats Winning Streak Continues
On Friday, Dec. 15, the Medicine-Valley Raiders traveled to Arnold to play the South Loup Bobcats. The Bobcats won the tip to begin the game.
South Loup jumped out early, moving the ball around to get a wide-open 3-pointer for sophomore Connor Paulsen. The Bobcats would continue this fast-paced play for most of the first quarter, jumping out to a quick 12-point lead.
The Raiders would find a way to get back into striking distance, however, and completed the quarter down only by four, 18-14.
The competition heated up in the second quarter, though the Bobcats would begin to dominate the game. A great defensive effort and relentless scoring allowed the Bobcats to go up by 14 at halftime. Your score at the half was 34-20, with the Bobcats on top.
To start the second half, the Bobcats would continue their second-quarter dominance over the Raiders, allowing only 4 points in the 3rd quarter. At the end of the third, the Bobcats would look to their bench and start subbing in their depth.
The fourth period would not look much different from the third as the Bobcats went on to win the game 6832.
Cache Gracey led the Bobcats scoring attack with 25 points. Gracey also had 3 assists, 1 block and 1 steal. Joey Sallach contributed 10 points and 3 steals in the winning effort. Trey Connell was a force defensively for the Bobcats, coming up with 6 steals. Connell scored 7 points and had 6 assists in the game.
The Bobcats were back in action on Monday and Tuesday to try and reclaim their holiday tournament victory from last year. Results of those games were not available at press time.
