So far this season the 6-man South Loup boys’ wrestling team has accumulated 20 medals, won seven duals, and after last week can call themselves conference champions.

The Bobcats competed in the SEM Invite on Friday, Jan. 17. The tournament featured a mix of competitive performances, highlighted by a championship victory from CJ Quandt. Four of the team’s six wrestlers medaled at the meet.

On Saturday, Jan. 18, South Loup traveled to Sandhills/Thedford for an invitational that also doubled as the MNAC wrestling championship tournament. While Central Valley won the 20-team invitational tournament, the Bobcats finished with 68 points which was the most of all teams representing the Mid Nebraska Activities Conference to claim the conference championship.

Dawson Mason claimed conference gold, with Noah Hiatt, Josiah Coleman, and CJ Quandt also earning conference medals. Results of those matches are as follows.
