South Loup was dealt their second loss in as many games on Friday, Sept. 5, when they hosted the Hi-Line Bulls in Arnold.

The Bobcats were unable to get the ball into the end zone through the first half of play. Meanwhile, the Bulls scored once in the first quarter and twice in the second to take a 20-0 lead into the halftime locker room on their way to a 28-6 win.

South Loup did hit paydirt in the third quarter when quarterback Dylan Pandorf rushed in for a touchdown. The senior accumulated 91 yards rushing on 20 carries for the night, while completing 4 of 6 passes for 44 yards. Fellow senior Crew Witthuhn ended the game with 62 rushing yards on 14 carries.

Witthuhn also had 2 receptions in the game for 17 yards, while Elijah Cool added 27 receiving yards on 2 catches.

Defensively for the Bobcats, senior Conner Paulsen led the team with 14 tackles, while Paxton Bierman tallied 13. Tysen Schacher contributed 10 tackles, Elijah Cool 9, Malachi Neth 8, Witthuhn 7, Caleb Furrow 6, and Pandorf 5.

Witthuhn averaged 29 yards on kickoffs, and Pandorf ended the game with a 33-yard punting average.

The Bobcats will be looking to get their first win of the season when they travel to Grant to take on Perkins County on Friday, Sept. 12. Kickoff against the 1-1 Plainsmen is set for 3:30 p.m.
