Bobcat Wrestlers Off To a Great Season

The short 2023-24 South Loup wrestling season got underway on Dec. 1, and the team has brought home a number of medals from the invitational they have competed in thus far.

The season opened up with the Hi-Line Invite where the Bobcats finished sixth overall in the 11-team field. Josiah Coleman picked up the silver medal at 113-pounds. Other medalists were Noah Hiatt, 4th at 106; Dawson Mason, 3rd at 132; Bo Brennan, 3rd at 138; CJ Quandt, 3rd at 144; and Dylan Handley, 4th at 157.

This past Friday, Dec. 8, the team competed in the Twin Loup Invitational and picked up two gold medals - Josiah Coleman at 113, and Dawson Mason at 132. Bo Brennan earned the bronze at 138, while CJ Quandt and Dylan Handley both finished 4th at 144 and 157 respectively.

On Saturday, Dec. 9, the Bobcats traveled to the Anselmo-Merna Invitational where Mason picked up another 1st place medal. Adding to the hardware were Coleman 3rd, and Kyle Bloomer - 4th at 215.

The team will be back in action on Friday at the Southern Valley duals, then will be off until after the Christmas break.
