The South Loup high school and junior high cross-country teams hosted the Mid-Nebraska Activities Conference (MNAC) meet at Arnold last week and brought home top honors, including team conference champions for the high school girls, and team runner-up for the high school boys.

Continuing to have a great season, sophomore Ella Cool placed 2nd with a time of 21:15. Ivy Tullis was right on her heels with a 3rd place finish and time of 22:38.12. Rounding out the girls was Gracie Neth in 9th place with a time of 31:48. This is the fourth consecutive year the girls team has been MNAC champions.

In junior high action, Jade Bierman placed 1stwith a time of 9:39, Rae Hagler placed 5th with a time of 10:33, and Walter Bierman placed 5th at 11:12. The junior high course is only a 3K, compared to a 5K for the high school course.

“The South Loup Bobcats had another great day,” said Coach Nicole Recoy. “Every runner on the team ran a personal best for either the season or their career. After everyone’s performance this week I am very excited for Districts next week!”

The bobcat runners travel to Cambridge on Thursday for their district meet. The top 15 individual placers and top three teams will qualify for state.
