The Bobcat cross country team overcame the hot weather and runners from much larger schools to add more medals to their collection this season.

The Cozad Invitational meet on Saturday, Sept. 2 at the Cozad Country Club included runners from all classes of schools, but the Bobcats still had runners individually placed in the top 20 of all runners.

Senior Logan Recoy ran into 5th place with a time of 18:27 and brought home a medal. Sophomore Josiah Coleman finished in 17th place with a time of 19:21, which is more than a minute faster than his time on this course last year.

The girls team also had two runners place in the top 20 - juniors Ivy Tullis finished in 9th place at 22:40 and Ella Cool came in on her heels in 10th place at 22:52.

Next week the team heads to Broken Bow for their invitational. Here the Bobcats will face some of the top 10 runners from last year at the state meet in both classes C and D.

With cooler weather and a very familiar course, the Bobcats are poised to again bring home hardware from the meet.

Meet results Walter Bierman - 21:43, 36th. Josiah Coleman - 19:21, 17th. Ella Cool - 22:52, 10th.

Gracie Neth - 30:12, 37th.

Caden Pandorf - 25:56, 44th.

Logan Recoy - 18:27, 5th. Ivy Tullis - 22:40, 9th.
