Louise Ann Hoesel, 87 of Callaway, passed away on April 7, 2024, at Hilltop Estates in Gothenburg. Louise was born to Charles and Edith (Thanel) Schaeffer on Oct. 2, 1936. 

She wed Frederick Albert Hoesel on Jan. 3, 1956. Louise was the mother of five children: Mike (Lori Hoesel) of Gothenburg, Diane (Dale) Seelhoff of Syracuse, Tom (Jodi) Hoesel of Callaway, Karen (Brad) Queen of Keller, Texas, and Elizabeth (Bruce) Bahnsen of Boulder, Colorado. Louise is survived by nine grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

Louise graduated from Callaway High School in 1954 and lived in Callaway her entire life on the family farm.

Louise was an active member of the St. Boniface Catholic Church in Callaway. She was an avid gardener who enjoyed canning, making meals for her family, and being a part of the church community where she made many meals for those in need. She and Albert enjoyed playing card games with their local friends and taking trips to antique shows all around the Midwest. She enjoyed talking to her cousin, Gayle Johnson, frequently. The family would like to thank Kristen Berger for being a faithful friend and support to Louise during her years after Albert passed away.

She was preceded in death by her husband Albert; parents, Charles and Edith; and sister, Mary Alice Achterberg of Lexington.

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, April 11, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Callaway with Father Jim Hunt officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 10, from 5:00 - 6:30 p.m. with a Rosary to follow at 6:30 p.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Callaway. Interment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Callaway, Nebraska.

A memorial has been established in Louise’s honor, and kindly suggested to the St. Boniface Catholic Church.
