passed from this world surrounded by a family that loved her, friends who were blessed by her, and a Savior who loved, died, and rose again from the dead for her. Lila would want anyone reading this to know the peace of salvation, and to find comfort in the promise of John 3:16 that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Lila was born on March 30, 1932, in Mason City. She lived in many places over the decades, and cherished friendships created in each place.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wright and Emma Chamberlin; brothers, Calvin, Porter, Wayne, and Eldon Chamberlin; her husband, Gale Payton; son, Galen Payton; and grandson, Curtis Payton.

Lila is survived by her daughter, Jane Boykin, grandchildren, Payton, Emma, Lila, Harold, Gale, Nina, and Harrison Jackson, and Zeth Payton; and great-grandchildren Morgan Payton, Easton Payton, and Rowan Jackson.

The memorial service will be held July 17 in Callaway. Donations in her honor are suggested for Homeward Trail Bible Camp in Mason City. Lila’s parents donated a portion of their family farm in the 1950s to establish this camp, which is still in operation today, to proclaim

the Gospel to the children and youth of Central Nebraska.
