Donnie Stryker age 77
of Oconto, passed away on June 16, 2026. Donald “Donnie” Duane Stryker was born on July 21, 1948, in Arnold, to Billy Bruce and Norma Berniece (Shaw) Stryker. He grew up in the Callaway area and graduated from Callaway High School. Following his graduation, Donnie attended Frontier School of Bible in LaGrange, Wyoming, for two years and later served as a pastor in Neligh.
On Nov. 17, 1973, Donnie was united in marriage to Connie Jo Wildman in Broken Bow. He continued his studies at Bible school, joining RHMA, and went on to pastor at Camp Crook, South Dakota, for 10 years, then in Cody, Nebraska, for three years, and eventually returned to Callaway to work at the Ridder Hereford Ranch and to assist with the family ranch.
Donnie and Connie later moved to Taylor to support a family during a difficult time. He then worked as a foreman on the Wake Ranch and started a construction business for five years while residing in Taylor. Donnie also worked as a pen rider at Adams Land & Cattle before returning to the family ranch for 15 years. Ten years ago, he and Connie purchased the Charles Horn place. He continued to do day work for his wonderful neighbors, the Mannon’s, and other neighbors. His favorite part of retirement was supporting his grandchildren in all their gifts and talents.
Donnie was always known for having a deep love for the Lord and horses. Rodeo Bible Camp always had a special place in his heart. It gave him the chance to share both of those great loves with young people. He often would use his gift of training horses to relate with people as he shared his love for the Lord with them.
Donnie was preceded in death by his parents, Billy and Norma; his stepfather, Frank Cole; and his father-in-law, Jerry Wildman.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Connie of Oconto; daughter, Heather (Shane) Wobig of Cody; sons, Tim Stryker of Deer Lodge, Montana, Nathan (Jessica) Stryker of Great Bend, Kansas, and Steven (Kim) Stryker of Greenbrier, Tennessee; 16 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Marilyn (Doug) Blumhardt of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee; and mother-in-law, Jenny Wildman of Ord.
Donnie’s life was marked by his dedication to family, faith, and community. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
