98 of North Platte, passed away on Oct. 31, 2023, at Linden Court in North Platte. She was born on June 25, 1925, to Herman and Mary (Weber) Schievelbein in Arapahoe. Leona grew up in Arapaho

and attended Emmanuel grade school. She was united in marriage to Richard Fahnholz on May 4, 1942, in Wilsonville. They lived on a farm until 1949. They moved to North Platte where she worked at the Pawnee Hotel for many years. Richard and Leona started the Fahnholz Septic business and continued to run the business until she was 94-years-old.

She was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. She enjoyed gardening and canning. Leona loved being around her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had a love for music, especially Christian and polka music.

Leona is survived by her son, Darrell (Kay) Fahnholz of Callaway; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; along with numerous other family members and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; daughter, Geraldine; son, Kenneth; two grandsons, Kevin Fahnholz, and Jim Woodcock; three infant grand-daughters; two brothers, Henry and Norman; and two sisters, Berdina Evans, and Marilyn Schievelbein.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, Nov. 4, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church with the Rev. Daniel Ramsey officiating. Burial was at Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens. Adams & Swanson Funeral Home assisted the family.
