Carolyn Joyce Woodward Elliott, 77,

of Lone Oak, Texas were held on Monday, Aug.

12, 2024, at Lone Oak United Methodist Church with the Rev. Beth Ensor officiating, under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home of Lone Oak, Texas. Interment was in Lone Oak City Cemetery.

Mrs. Elliott passed away Monday, Aug. 5, 2024, at her residence in Lone Oak. She was born Dec.

25, 1946, in Callaway, to Merril E. and Esther C. Woodward. On Nov. 22, 1975, she married Richard Elliott.

They resided in Callaway until moving to Lone Oak in 1979. After completing Greenville Beauty School, she owned and operated her own beauty shop for several years. Carolyn then entered nursing school, where she graduated as an RN. She worked for many years at Hunt Regional Medical Center, until her retirement.

Carolyn was known for her unbounding love for her family and was always there to support them in their endeavors. Family was number one for her. Every Wednesday night she hosted Pizza and Wheel of Fortune Night and each fall she could be found bonding with her grandchildren while making candy.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Detta Wright; two brothers, Larry Woodward and Gail Woodward; and brother-in-law, Dick Holeman.

Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Richard Benton'Elliott' and Kristi Graham of Lone Oak, Texas; daughter, Dana Sandlin of Greenville, Texas; brother, Cecil Woodward of Callaway; sister, Peggy Holeman of Arcadia; four grandchildren, Brandon, Briana, Jada, Chase and fiancée Bethany; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers were Randy Stracener, Gary Wallace, Perry Sandlin, Rod Groves, Jerry McGee, and Aaron Rivers.
