Body

Beverly Mae Bailey, 84 of Callaway, passed away on Friday, Jan. 26, 2024, peacefully at her residence. Beverly was born in North Platte to Edward “Ted” Charles and Olive Delphine (Keller) Smith on July 3, 1939. Beverly was united in marriage to Dale Dean Bailey on Sept. 16, 1955, in North Platte. They were married for 67 years. She did childcare for many children over the years. She helped Dale run a gas station and repair shop called D & B Service in Culbertson. Beverly and Dale loved to go camping, boating, and fishing. She was a very special Aunt to nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Myron (Grace) Smith, and Marvin (Kay) Smith; sisters, Donna (Mel) Bailey, and Lois (John) Hughbanks; stepfather, Lewis Trusty; and a niece, Laurie Ann Carlton.

Survivors include her brother, Garry (Pennie) Smith, and many nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation, as the family is honoring Beverly’s wish for cremation. A graveside service will be held on Friday, Feb. 2, at 10:00 a.m. at Fort McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell.

A memorial has been established in Beverly’s honor, and kindly suggested to the family for later designation.
