Bobcat Wrestlers See Light Week Due To Weather
Even though Mother Nature forced the cancellation of the South Loup Wrestling Invite last Friday, the Bobcat wrestlers still got some mat time at a duel with Overton last Tuesday.
The Bobcats fell to a larger Eagles team 30-48, but still brought home more experience and a handful of individual wins.
At 120 pounds, Paxton Bierman (14-13) was pinned by Austin Kennicutt in 35 seconds. Down at 126 pounds, Bo Brennan (19-10) defeated Wyatt Kyle in 1:26; and at 138 pounds, CJ Quandt (18-11) pinned Ty Kennicutt in 1:08.
Dylan Handley (4-16) at 145 pounds was pinned by Parker Walahoski in 3:22. Sophomore Jamie Tickle (3-8) at 160 pounds was pinned by Hayden Muirhead in 2:40; and Kyle Bloomer (2-15) was pinned by Joshua Henry in 2:29 at 195 pounds.
Finally, at 220 pounds, Dawson Doggett (12-5) pinned Jose Gonzalez Rodriguez in 1:03.
Other grapplers who did not wrestle, but won by forfeit were Josiah Coleman at 106 pounds; and Zane Ellison at 113 pounds.
The Bobcats will travel to Central Valley in Greeley on Friday with action starting at 11 a.m.
