Reta Kimball
of North Platte, passed away at the Callaway Good Life Center on Nov. 9, 2022, at the age of 87. Reta, the daughter of Leland and Mary Stevenson, was born June 23, 1935, at Westerville, where she grew up. After graduating from Westerville High School, Reta attended Kearney State Teachers College and earned her teaching certificate. She then moved to North Platte where she taught at District 44, south of town.
On Aug. 15, 1954, Reta was united in marriage to Clair Kimball at Westerville Methodist Church. They settled in North Platte and raised three children. Reta went on to work for the hospital in an admissions position and retired from Great Plains Regional Medical Center after 27 years.
She was a member of First Christian Church. Reta liked to shop and loved her family. She especially enjoyed going to her grandkids and great-grandkids sporting events - she was their biggest fan.
Reta was preceded in death by her husband, Clair, and their infant daughter, Lori Jo; her parents, Leland and Mary Stevenson; brothers, Lewis and Richard Stevenson; and son-in-law, Mark Pandorf.
Survivors include her children, Tom (Sue) Kimball of Grant, Ed (Bonnie) Kimball of Bronson, Iowa, and Diane Pandorf of Callaway; her sister, Sue Stevenson of Broken Bow; 11 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and other family members.
Graveside service was held Monday, Nov. 14, in Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens in North Platte with Jean Anderson officiating. Online condolences may be shared at odeanchapel.com.
