Edna Mae Tompkin Wilson was born Jan. 13, 1923, at Lomax to William T. and Nellie Mae (Whited) Tompkin. Edna was called to her heavenly home on Saturday, June 18, 2022, at the age of 99 years, 5 months, and 5 days.

Edna received a grade school education from several country schools including Oconto Public School. She was married to John Lewis Wilson on Jan. 1, 1945. The rest of her life was spent on the farm Southeast of Oconto.

Edna was an active member of the Oconto United Methodist Church until health no longer permitted her to attend. Her hobbies were gardening, quilting, crocheting, embroidering, and working outside with all the animals.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three sisters, one brother-in-law, and one grandson.

Edna is survived by her daughter, Nadine (Dick) Brestel of Guthrie, Oklahoma; sons, Darrell (Betty) Wilson of Oconto and Dale Wilson of Eatonville, Washington; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one niece, three nephews, and many friends.

Funeral services were Friday, June 24 in Oconto, with Pastor Ryan Finley officiating. Burial was in the Viola Cemetery. Govier Brothers Mortuary are in charge of arrangements. An online guest book may be signed at www.govierbrothers.com.
