Callaway is the Busiest Village in the Valley
The Callaway Chamber of Commerce wishes to say thank you to everyone who participated in hosting the Bran riders last week. “You all were amazing and appreciated. We received so many compliments about Callaway, the friendly people and great food and how nice and clean the town looked,” said Chamber president Ken Pitkin.
The Chamber thanks Bryon and Heath and the crew at Callaway Public Schools for preparing and hosting the campground and overnight accommodations. Also, thank you to the Village crew - Rod, Joe and Zach for working to make Callaway look great, even after the Sunday storm.
Many organizations, businesses, citizens and individuals worked or volunteered for BRAN and deserve a big pat on the back - from hospitality, housing, food, services, golf carts, trailers to transport riders, sign makers, flag men, museum volunteers and more. You are appreciated!
“And thanks to all the Chamber members who volunteered hours in planning and on the day of BRAN,” Pitkin added. “Working together we can do great things.”
Though BRAN is now behind them, the Callaway Chamber is not finished hosting guests just yet. The Village will be hosting Tour de Nebraska as they pass through Callaway on Thursday, June 23. Then coming up that weekend, June 24-26, will be the annual Pioneer Picnic.
“So, we are having a cleanup night to get ready for all this on Tuesday, June 21 at 5:30 at the park,” said Pitkin. “We will spruce up the park and weed-eat extra places downtown and get ready for the carnival and that kind of stuff.”
Tour de Nebraska is anticipated to begin arriving in Callaway about 7:30 a.m. next Thursday, and they will hang around until about noon. The museum will be open and there will be some food options available for the riders.
“I’m really proud of our community,” Pitkin added.
