BOBCATS EARN TWO MEDALS IN SEASON OPENING MATCHES

The South Loup wrestling team kicked off the 2025-26 season on Friday, Dec. 5, as they travelled to Elwood to compete in the Hi-Line Invitational. It was a good start for the Bobcats, as Josiah Coleman wrestled his way to a silver medal and Paxton Bierman earned a bronze medal on the day.

Team results for the Bobcats are as follows: 120 pounds - Noah Hiatt; cons. Round 1 - fall over Hi-Line (0:38); cons. Semis - lost by decision to Araphaoe; quarterfinals - lost by fall to South Loup Josiah Coleman; quarterfinals - fall over Noah Hiatt (1:59); semifinals - fall over Medicine Valley (1:24); 1st place match - lost by TF to Sutherland 150 pounds - Ryan Lords; fall over Overton (3:44); lost by fall to Hi-Line; cons.

Semis - lost by fall to SEM 165 pounds - Paxton Bierman; round 1 - fall over Hi-Line (0:48); quarterfinals technical fall over Maxwell; semifinals - lost by fall to Paxton; cons. Matches will get underway at 10 a.m. The team will turn right around the next day and head to Merna for competition beginning at 10 a.m.
