Regarding challenging opponents, Goodenow emphasized a confident outlook: “There is not a single team in Nebraska that is unbeatable. Every team has off nights, and our record will depend on how the girls choose to show up this season.”

The goals for the season are focused on improvement and fundamentals. The team aims to reduce turnovers, take more shots, make more baskets, and win games they fell short on last season. Beyond wins, Goodenow emphasized the importance of having fun, learning the fundamentals, and maintaining the drive to be the best they can be.

The Lady Bobcats have seven seniors on the roster, including Tyra Berkel, Neltje Reiff, Kaygan Witthuhn, Kelynn Witthuhn, Erin Fitzgerald, Bindi Peters and Angel Johnson.

Looking ahead, Goodenow expressed excitement for the season: “We’re eager to see how the girls grow this year. We encourage them to work hard, have a good time, and play together toward the same goal. We are in year two of rebuilding the program, and great success doesn’t come in just two years. Coach Dock and I are still learning as the seasons go on, and we are excited to have the team that we do.”

The Bobcats will be supported by Assistant Coach Kalen Dockweiler, helping guide the team on and off the court. With a mix of determination, teamwork, and positive energy, South Loup looks forward to building momentum and making strides throughout the 2025-2026 season. The Lady Bobcats will face their first challenge on Friday, Dec. 5 against the Twin Loup Wolves. The games will be held at Arnold with a 4 p.m. start time. On Saturday, Dec. 6, they travel to Amherst and will take the court at 1 p.m. for the JV squads, followed by varsity directly after.
