Bobcats Perform Well at Highly Competitive UNK Invite

After not running competitively since Sept. 18, several members of the South Loup cross country team were invited to participate in the UNK High School Invitational on Monday, Sept. 29, in Kearney.

Senior Josiah Coleman was the top finisher in the men’s division for the Bobcats, coming in 28th place with a time of 18:59.81. Junior Walter Bierman came in 53rd overall with a time of 19:49.43, and sophomore Jaden Baker finished in a time of 20.01.11 in 58th place.

Senior Eli Rogers ran a time of 24:22. 91. There were 304 runners in the Class D men’s division of the invitational.

Kaygan Witthuhn was the only member of the women’s South Loup team to compete. She finished with a time of 33:04.13.

A total of 181 women ran the 5,000m race.

The Bobcat runners will be back on the course on Tuesday, Oct. 7, as they host the MNAC meet in Arnold. The race will begin at 10 a.m.
