Karsyn Chesley of Harrisburg is the Nebraska High School Rodeo State Light Rifle Champion, earning this honor at the state finals competition held in Valentine in June. The top honors earned her belt buckles, a Yeti cooler and a trophy saddle plus the right to compete in the National High School Rodeo Finals in Rock Springs, Wyoming in July where she finished 38th out of 145 competitors.

In the upcoming year, Karsyn will serve as the State Student Director for the Shooting Sports. She also competes in team roping and breakaway roping in high school rodeo. Karsyn is the daughter of Dan and Heidi Chesley of Harrisburg and a granddaughter of Dave and Jo Chesley of Callaway. She will be a sophomore at Kimball High School.
