The South Loup boys’ golf team wrapped up their regular season on Wednesday, May 14, which was also the last day of school for the year.

The team traveled to Mullen to compete in a seven-team tournament, with the host school winning the meet with 333. The Broken Bow JV team finished second with 344, and South Loup was just two strokes back with 346 for a third-place team finish.

Brady Haake of Sandhills-Thedford has proven all season to be the one to beat, and shot the low score of the day of 67. Haydn Stretesky was the top golfer for the Bobcats and finished with the bronze medal overall, carding an 80.

Jamie Tickle had a good day on the course as well, shooting 84 for a 7th-place finish, and Harper Johnson also finished in the top 10 individually with an 87, good for 9th place.

Crew Witthuhn rounded out the varsity squad with a 95. The Bobcats were back on the round on Monday and Tuesday as they traveled to Ainsworth for the district meet with a trip to state on the line. Results of the district tournament were not available as of press time. The state meet will be held May 28 and 29 in Columbus.
