The boys' and girls’ track teams hosted the South Loup Invitational on Friday, April 11, with the Lady Bobcats winning the team championship by 10 points while the boys’ team was only 2 points off the lead to finish as runners-up in the team standings. There were a total of 13 teams competing in the meet.

“We are starting to build momentum as we head into the back half of our track season,” said boys Head Coach Andy Schwarz. “Our home meet was met with perfect weather and outstanding performances!

Highlights of the day include our long jumpers – Ethan Furne and Dylan Pandorf who went one and two. We placed two runners in both the 800 and 1600m runs.

The sprint relay and distance relays came away with first place as well. Up next will be a tough meet in Burwell.”

Individual medalists for the Bobcats at the April 11 meet are as follows: Conner Paulsen - 100m, 5th place; 4x100 Relay, 1st place Ethan Furne - 200m, 5th place; long jump, 1st place; 4x100 relay, 1st place Dylan Pandorf - 200m, 6th place; long jump, 2nd place; 4x100 Relay, 1st place Elijah Cool - 800m, 3rd place; 4x800 Relay, 1st place Walter Bierman - 800m, 4th place; 4x800 Relay, 1st place Jaden Baker - 1600m, 4th place Josiah Coleman - 1600m, 5th place; 4x800 Relay, 1st place; 3200m, 3rd place Caleb McFate - 110 Hurdles, 4th place CJ Quandt - 300m Hurdles, 6th place AJ Star - 4x100 Relay, 1st place; high jump, 4th place Eli Rogers - 4x800 Relay, 1st place Dawson Mason - 3rd place, pole vault For the girls, freshman Olivia Fitzgerlad ran her way to two gold medals on the day - in the 100m and the 4x100 Relay. She was not the only Lady Bobcat to win multiple medals at the home meet.
