The South Loup boy’s and girl’s track teams traveled to Elwood on Tuesday, April 1, to compete in the 12team Hi-Line Invitational. In the team standings, the men’s team finished right in the middle of the pack in 6th place, while the women finished in 9th place.

“We were a little short-handed at the track meet on Tuesday due to MNAC music contest and a couple of coaches were out with illness,” said Coach Andy Schwarz. “What has always been a cold, windy, dreary track meet turned into one of the better weather meets we have had! The kids did a great job of getting prepared prior to the races, which has been a focus for us. We turned in some excellent times and look to use this as a springboard into the next few meets.”

Several Bobcats earned medals in more than one event for the boys. Those medalists are: Conner Paulsen, 6th - 100 m; 2nd - 4x100 m relay Dylan Pandorf, 5th - 400 m; 2nd - 4x100 relay; 2nd 4x400 relay Elijah Cool, 3rd - 800 m; 2nd - 4x400 m relay
