Richard Lowell "Dick" Henderson

Richard Lowell "Dick" Henderson, age 90, passed away at his home on Feb. 19, 2022, surrounded by his family. He was born on March 5, 1931, in Broken Bow to John Calvin (Pat) and Mabel Hetrick Henderson, and was one of two children.

He attended school in Callaway and graduated with the class of 1948. After graduation he moved to Oregon and worked in grain fields before serving his country for a total of two years and eight months in the U.S. Air Force.

On Oct. 12, 1952, he married Margie Thompson and they had four children: Kay Joann, Ronald Keith, Karen Rae and Kristy Louise. They later divorced.

Dick was a truck driver for 38 years with Suburban Propane in Kemmerer, Wyoming where he met his current wife Darlene Rosen in Pocatello, Idaho, where they were living at the time of his death. They were married on June 4, 1982, and celebrated 39 years together. He was a state patrolman and deputy county sheriff for several years, and a longstanding member of the I.O.O.F. Grand Lodge of Nebraska. His hobbies included steelhead fishing, game hunting, Husker football and Rockies baseball.

Survivors include his wife, Darlene; children, Kay (Leroy) Lieb, Karen (Rick) Reiter, Kristy (Doyle) Buchmeier, all of Nebraska; Terry Rosen and Marie, Vicki Rosen and Troy, all of Idaho; 10 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; one niece, two nephews, and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; a sister-in-law; and his son, Keith.
