Chemigation Training Coming to Bow in February

Chemigation training will be held Feb. 19, beginning at 1 p.m. at the 4-H Building in Broken Bow. Chemigation training is a requirement for ag producers to apply chemicals through their irrigation systems, says Troy Walz, NE Extension Educator. The Nebraska Chemical Act requires anyone who applies chemicals though an irrigation system, whether that be through gated pipe or center pivot systems, to take the chemigation training and become certified. To become certified producers need to register at their local extension office, attend training, and pass a written test. It is recommended to review the chemigation materials prior to coming to the class, as passing the written test is a requirement of certification. To register for the training in Broken Bow call the NE Extension Office in Custer County at 872-6831.

Help Support Senior Center

The Seven Valleys Senior Center is seeking donations for their “Sustaining Donation Budget”. The Senior Center is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization with the stated purpose of education. Because of rising costs the center is in need of revenue to supplement the usual income which comes from BINGO in the park, rental of the building, and private donations. Memorial bricks are also still available for purchase for $250 which can include an individual or organization name. The Senior Center board is asking for community members who are willing to commit to $50 each year to the center, beginning in 2025. If you are able to support this facility, please reach out to Gailard Longmore, or you can send your contribution to: Seven Valleys Senor Center, PO Box 362, Callaway, or give it to any board member.
