Tullis Runs Personal Best on Ravenna Course
On Thursday, Sept. 19, the South Loup cross country team traveled to Ravenna to compete. The boys brought home one medal from junior Josiah Coleman who placed 13th with a time of 20:00.6.
Walter Bierman ran a time of 22:52.1 and said, “Ravenna is one of the tougher courses we compete at but the team ran well, and even though only a few of us placed we were still strong as a team.'
Both female members of the team once again earned a medal for the Bobcats. Senior Ivy Tullis placed 6th with a course P.R. of 24:28.4. Senior Ella Cool got 8th with a time of 24:45.8.
“Ravenna is always a tough meet. Regardless of the difficulty of the meet, we competed very well. We have competed at this meet in the past, and many of us ran course personal bests,” says Tullis.
In addition to Tullis, Eli Rogers (24:43.7) and Josiah Coleman also ran course bests this year.
Head Coach Nicole Recoy said, “We had some great performances even with the hard and tough course. I am always impressed with how these athletes run this course. It is not an easy course to run due to the hills.”
The next meet for the cross country team will be on Monday, Sept. 30 at UNK. The event will begin at 2:30 p.m.
