SENIOR SPOTLIGHTS: Handley, Wooters, Future Mechanics
Lance Wooters will be bidding his mom, Mishele, dog Kora, and big sister, Becca, farewell in just a few short months when he heads east to college.
The Callaway High School senior plans to attend Southeast Community College in Milford next fall. “Southeast Community College has a specialized program with John Deere equipment, so I will be learning to become a service technician,” Lance explained in his senior presentation.
He will spend two years studying diesel mechanics, hydraulics, and the electrical parts of the farm equipment. “While in college I will be able to work at a dealership while I continue to finish school,” he added.
Lance will have his own dorm room next fall on the SCC campus. While he admits he is a little nervous about being farther away from his family, he is looking forward to meeting new people and making new friends.
“In 10 years I see myself doing what I love, spending time with family and friends, and maybe even starting a family of my own,” said Lance
