SENIOR SPOTLIGHTS: Handley, Wooters, Future Mechanics
Dylan Handley, like most seniors at this time of year, is counting down the remainder of his high school days. While he enjoys his last month at Callaway High School, he has a clear vision of what he plans for his future.
Dylan plans to attend Mid Plains Community College in North Platte, South campus, this fall. “I am going to college for auto body repair because I like to work with my hands and it seems like a good career for me,” he explained as he gave his senior presentation to his peers.
Dylan said he believes his time in Callaway has well-prepared him for his future. “Everything that is essential for college I learned from prior schooling. I’ve learned from my mistakes and successes in high school which has made me more aware of my decisions academically,” he shared. “I don’t need reminders any longer because I’ve become a self-starter.”
Dylan sees himself just being a regular guy after college - “maybe having a family and living a regular life.” He said he is most excited about being out on his own, but is also a little nervous about adjusting to finding the balance between school and work.
He offers this advice to his underclassmen: “Try new things. You might find something that you really like to do. You might meet new people.”
