Mike Weverka has a robust roster of athletes on his track team this season and as the Lady Bobcats prepare for the upcoming season, the success they have seen under Weverka’s leadership should see a continued trend of achievement.

With 28 girls hitting the track this season, the South Loup girls are looking to build on the four consecutive MNAC titles they have in their pockets.

After finishing the 2021 season second in the C-8 district, Weverka will look to a number of competitors to make an immediate impact.

“Strong leadership across the team will help the Bobcats to be one of the leading area teams by the time we get to conference and districts,” Weverka said.

A large corps of seniors along with a talented group of incoming freshmen should help the Bobcats earn valuable points in a number of events from the beginning.

The Lady Bobcats see their first bit of action on March 19 at the University of Nebraska-Kearney Indoor Invitational.

The meet is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
