Students, faculty and community members all came together to show their team spirit for South Loup Homecoming Week last week.

A pep rally scheduled to be held Thursday evening at Hidden Valley was moved to the school in Arnold due to weather, but that certainly did not dampen the spirits of those in attendance. The celebration continued on game day Friday, as Callaway Public School hosted their traditional Homecoming parade downtown.

Elementary students even got involved in the march downtown to support the Bobcats, dressing in blue and carrying signs. There were floats, and of course, the Callaway marching band getting the crowd fired up before the big afternoon football game against Leyton.

Following the parade a community pep rally was held at the practice field, followed by a picnic lunch for all students, staff and community members. Superintendent Bryon Hanson grilled the burgers for the school sponsored lunch.

The crowning of this year’s Homecoming King & Queen took place at the conclusion of the 2 p.m. football game, and the Homecoming dance in the community center that night rounded out the festivities.
