The Callaway Legion Auxiliary’s September meeting was held at 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 14, 2026, at the Callaway Legion Hall. We started the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance and the Auxiliary Preamble. The secretary then read the minutes from last month. The minutes were approved as read.

The Legion County Convention will be held at the Oconto Community Center on Sept. 20; registration is from 10 to 11 a.m. and is $2. The meal will be at 12:00 p.m. for $15. The joint meeting for the Legion and the Auxiliary will be at 11 a.m. After lunch, the Auxiliary will meet at the Community Center at 1 p.m., and the Legion will meet at 1 p.m. at the Oconto Legion Hall.

We are also going to bring items for gift baskets for two guardsmen from our area who are overseas. Items suggested were letters from students, Girl Scout cookies, jerky, beef sticks, deer sticks, energy drinks, and personal hygiene items. MaryAnn made a motion to donate gifts and items for the two guard members. Judy seconded the motion, and it received unanimous approval.

There will be a homecoming for Vicki Cyboron, President of the Nebraska Legion Auxiliary, in Bolus, on Oct. 24. It will be a leadership training seminar from 10 – 10:30 a.m. Vicki’s theme for this year is “Families Accomplishing Rewarding Memories, FARM”.

We also discussed 2027 scholarships, Give 10 for Education, and American Education Week. Patriot Day was Sept. 11.

There are several changes in the donation forms, such as no gift shop or Veterans Home Administration categories; they will be combined with other categories. There is also a change in the people who can be auxiliary members. A military person who may have children, brothers, or sisters can now become an auxiliary member. The Auxiliary division is now gender neutral.

If you see any members of the Auxiliary, remind them to pay their dues.

• Gifts for Yanks MaryAnn made a motion to pay the amounts we discussed for these programs. Judy seconded this, and it received unanimous approval.

MaryAnn moved to pay the District Dues. Eileen seconded this motion, and it received unanimous approval.
