Twenty-four 3rd-6th grade girls from Arnold and Callaway practiced learning the fundamentals of basketball from early December to mid-February. They had practices once a week along with having some fun!

With some collaboration with surrounding towns, a league was created a couple of years ago with Sandhills/Thedford, Anselmo/Merna, and Stapleton/Tryon. South Loup 3rd-6th girls and boys traveled to Thedford Jan. 14, Stapleton Jan. 21 and A/M came to Arnold Jan. 28 for games. These games have given the girls a great opportunity to play and help get an understanding of the game.

Grades 3-4 girls and 3-4 boys also traveled to the Stapleton Tournament on Feb. 11 and were able to play three games. On Feb. 18, both the grades 3-4 and 5-6 girls traveled to Broken Bow for the TurBow Tournament, where again each team got to play three games. The 3-4 girls brought home a bronze medal! A huge thank you to all the parents for your time and support, the coaches for your time, Arnold Public Schools for use of the gym, the Arnold and Callaway Community centers for practice, and the Arnold and Callaway Booster Clubs.
