Callaway FFA Students Earn Awards & State Berths

On Jan. 25, Taylor Ross, Abby Stallbaumer, Matthew Mannon, Joceylyn and Addison Bailey, and Delaynie Laible competed on the very first Callaway Parliamentary Procedure Team and placed 4th. As a result the team is an alternate to the Nebraska State FFA Convention.

Dylan Pandorf and Neltje Reiff competed in the FFA Creed speaking contest. Pandorf placed 14th and Reiff made it to the finals round placing 4th! Chenney Dishman competed in the extemporaneous speaking contest and placed 4th, making her an alternate to state FFA.

On Feb. 2nd, six senior FFA members were interviewed for their State FFA Degree - the highest degree at the high school level. The interview process consisted of general knowledge about FFA and their Supervised Agriculture Experience. Once submitted to the state and processed they will have the opportunity to walk across the stage in March during the Nebraska State FFA Convention to receive their award.

On Feb. 8, 25 FFA members competed in District Career Development Events at GI CCC. Results of their competitions are as follows.

AG Sales Taylor Ross: 2nd place, (p) ribbon. Abby Stallbaumer: 4th place, (p) ribbon. Addison Bailey: 7th place, (b) ribbon.

CJ Quandt: 8th place, (b) ribbon.

The Ag Sales team placed 1st overall and made it to State.

Natural Resources Grant Hrupek: 1st place, (p) ribbon.

Kaden Paulsen: 8th place, (b) ribbon.

Joey Sallach: 28th place, (w) ribbon.

Ava Pandorf: 41st place. The Natural Resources team placed 5th overall and made it to State.

Food Science Addison Bailey: 5th place, (p) ribbon.

Dylan Pandorf: 27th place, (w) ribbon.

Harper Johnson: 35th place.

Aubrie Birkel: 49th place. The Food Science team placed 6th overall.

Meats Evaluation Grant Hrupek: 16th place. CJ Quandt: 30th place. Carter Wood: 35th place. Bo Brennan: 42nd place. The Meats Evaluation team placed 7th overall.

Agriscience Dylan Pandorf: 16th place, ( r) ribbon. Conner Paulsen: 19th place, ( r) ribbon. Aubrie Birkel: 24th place, (w) ribbon. Bindi Peters: 32nd place. The Agriscience team placed 8th overall.

Floriculture Chenney Dishman: 8th place, (b) ribbon.

Maggie Birkel: 14th place, (p) ribbon.

Neltie Reiff: 15th place, (p) ribbon. Kaygan Witthuhn: 22nd place, (w) ribbon.

Delaynie Liable: 38th place. Jocelyn Bailey: 39th place.
