Bobcat Pick Up More Hardware
A hilly and more technical Ravenna course couldn’t stop the South Loup Bobcat cross country team from bringing home more medals Saturday to add to an already impressive season.
Ella Cool placed 5th for the girls with a time of 23:10.4 and Ivy Tullis placed 13th with a time of 25:39.6. The girls team placed 7th overall - which included Cool, Tullis, and Gracie Neth with a time of 34:53.6.
For the Bobcat boys, Logan Recoy placed 12th with a time of 20:00.2 and Josiah Coleman placed 17th with a time of 20:32.3. The boys team finished 8th overall with Caleb McFate finishing with a time of 24:47.5, and Eli Rogers with a time of 25:25.3.
Despite the hills producing slower times than previous meets, each returning runner for the Bobcats showed significant improvement upon their times over last year at this course.
“I thought the kids did a great job,” said head coach Nicole Recoy. “This is a very tough course to run on and it is extremely hilly.”
The junior high runners did not participate in this meet.
The Bobcat runners travel to Kearney for the UNK meet on Monday, Sept. 26 with a noon start.
